Mr & Mrs Heppelthwaite

Mr and Mrs Heppelthwaite visited our Horndean showroom in 2025 in search of a replacement for their existing timber entrance door and sidelight. After exploring the available options, they selected our timber 'Braithwaite' entrance door, which perfectly suited the character of their property.

The new door and sidelight were finished in a complementary dual-colour scheme. The door sash is finished in London Grey (RAL 7005), while the frame, cill and sidelight are finished in Anodised Grey (RAL 7004), creating a subtle yet distinctive contrast.

To complete the installation, pewter ironmongery from From The Anvil was specified. This timeless finish combines industrial character with understated warmth, providing the perfect finishing touch to the new entrance door.

Using engineered timber keeps the beautiful and tactile qualities of traditional wood but avoids the innate expansion and contraction issues that can occur from using solid wood.  Engineered (multi-layered) timber is created by layering wood sections, with the grain of one section being layered in the opposing direction to the grain of its neighbour. Cleverly layering in this manner ensures any movement caused by absorption of moisture is evened out.

This leads to stronger, longer lasting windows and doors. Making sure they stay a perfect fit-just as the day they were installed.
