Mr & Mrs Murray
Mr and Mrs Murray decided to replace the wide bay window at their listed property, which spans over five metres, ensuring the new installation would remain in keeping with the home’s character.
The customers opted for a timber flush casement bay window, featuring ultra-slim 14mm double glazed units filled with krypton gas and hand-finished with traditional putty. The design also incorporates 24mm true glazing bars, enhancing the authentic period appearance, while white spacer bars provide a consistent and refined finish.
The bay window is factory finished in white (RAL 9003), both internally and externally, creating a clean and timeless look. To complete the design, Mr and Mrs Murray selected polished brass pear drop handles and peg stays, adding a classic finishing touch.
Using engineered timber keeps the beautiful and tactile qualities of traditional wood but avoids the innate expansion and contraction issues that can occur from using solid wood. Engineered (multi-layered) timber is created by layering wood sections, with the grain of one section being layered in the opposing direction to the grain of its neighbour. Cleverly layering in this manner ensures any movement caused by absorption of moisture is evened out.
This leads to stronger, longer lasting windows and doors. Making sure they stay a perfect fit-just as the day they were installed.
