Mr & Mrs Armstrong
Located in a Hampshire village, Mr and Mrs Armstrong were looking to replace the windows in their listed property, ensuring any new additions would remain in keeping with its traditional character.
The customers opted for timber cottage casement windows, featuring ultra-slim 14mm double glazed units filled with krypton gas and hand-finished with traditional putty. The windows also incorporate 24mm true glazing bars, enhancing the authentic period appearance.
All windows are factory finished in white (RAL 9003), both internally and externally, creating a clean and timeless look. To complete the design, Mr and Mrs Armstrong selected black monkey tail handles and peg stays, adding a classic finishing touch.
Reflecting on their experience, Mr Armstrong commented:
“The value for money was important to us, and we are very pleased with the service we received. Kevin was quick to respond to any queries, and the process was excellent from the very start.”
Using engineered timber keeps the beautiful and tactile qualities of traditional wood but avoids the innate expansion and contraction issues that can occur from using solid wood. Engineered (multi-layered) timber is created by layering wood sections, with the grain of one section being layered in the opposing direction to the grain of its neighbour. Cleverly layering in this manner ensures any movement caused by absorption of moisture is evened out.
This leads to stronger, longer lasting windows and doors. Making sure they stay a perfect fit-just as the day they were installed.
