"Service has been first class and we have been delighted with every aspect of the service and the people delivering it. We used the company after visiting the Horndean showroom and we were impressed by the quality and range of options/choices. We also looked at the reviews and were pleased about what other customers had said."

Mr and Mrs MacDonald first discovered Timber Windows Southern online while researching options for their home improvement project.

The customers selected lipped casement windows, the windows and doors are finished in Farrow & Ball Matchstick internally and Fired Earth South Bank externally. A textbook blend of blue and green, Fired Earth's South Bank colour is a bold and bright choice for any contemporary home. Inspired by the Festival of Britain, where celebrations of architecture, industry and science took place all along the South Bank of the Thames.

To complete the look, Mr and Mrs MacDonald selected the satin stainless steel hardware from Coastal. The satin stainless steel finish is created using a careful linishing process, where multiple abrasives – starting coarse and finishing ultra-fine — are used to give the steel its soft, brushed texture. The result is a smooth, silky surface with a beautiful satin sheen.

Using engineered timber keeps the beautiful and tactile qualities of traditional wood but avoids the innate expansion and contraction issues that can occur from using solid wood.  Engineered (multi-layered) timber is created by layering wood sections, with the grain of one section being layered in the opposing direction to the grain of its neighbour. Cleverly layering in this manner ensures any movement caused by absorption of moisture is evened out.

This leads to stronger, longer lasting windows and doors. Making sure they stay a perfect fit-just as the day they were installed.
