Mr & Mrs Cowper
Mr and Mrs Cowper carried out extensive research when considering new windows for their property. Having a local showroom proved particularly beneficial, as it allowed them to view the products and explore different options in person rather than relying solely on a brochure.
The customers selected timber cottage casement windows, finished in white (RAL 9003) internally and French Grey (RAL 7032) externally, creating a classic yet distinctive appearance.
The majority of the engineered timber windows feature 18mm astragal bars, enhancing the traditional aesthetic. In contrast, two tall picture windows were designed with clear glass to maximise the amount of natural light entering the room.
Using engineered timber keeps the beautiful and tactile qualities of traditional wood but avoids the innate expansion and contraction issues that can occur from using solid wood. Engineered (multi-layered) timber is created by layering wood sections, with the grain of one section being layered in the opposing direction to the grain of its neighbour. Cleverly layering in this manner ensures any movement caused by absorption of moisture is evened out.
This leads to stronger, longer lasting windows and doors. Making sure they stay a perfect fit-just as the day they were installed.
