Mr & Mrs Hurst
Mr and Mrs Hurst first discovered Timber Windows Southern after passing the showroom on numerous occasions. Intrigued, they explored the company further by viewing photos of previously completed projects. Impressed with the quality and style, they arranged a visit to the showroom to ensure the new windows would complement the character of their property.
The project involved replacing the existing timber sash windows at the front of the house, installing a flush casement bay window, and fitting a new Apsley back door.
All windows and the door were factory finished in white (RAL 9003), both internally and externally, creating a clean and cohesive appearance. To complete the look, the customers selected polished brass hardware for both the windows and door, adding a touch of classic elegance.
Using engineered timber keeps the beautiful and tactile qualities of traditional wood but avoids the innate expansion and contraction issues that can occur from using solid wood. Engineered (multi-layered) timber is created by layering wood sections, with the grain of one section being layered in the opposing direction to the grain of its neighbour. Cleverly layering in this manner ensures any movement caused by absorption of moisture is evened out.
This leads to stronger, longer lasting windows and doors. Making sure they stay a perfect fit-just as the day they were installed.
