Mr & Mrs Challis
Located in a village near Chichester, Mr and Mrs Challis first visited our Horndean showroom in 2020 to upgrade their front door.
After exploring our range, they chose a Chalfont timber entrance door, featuring classic raised and fielded panels. The door was factory-finished in French Grey (RAL 7032) on both the interior and exterior, providing a timeless and elegant look.
Following their positive experience with the front door installation, the Challises returned to discuss replacing the majority of the windows in their property.
Given that their home is a listed building, they selected our cottage casement timber windows, designed to meet heritage requirements. These windows incorporate 14mm ultra-slim double-glazed units filled with krypton gas, along with 6mm perimeter lead squares to maintain an authentic period appearance.
The new timber windows were finished in White (RAL 9003) internally and externally, complementing the character of the property while enhancing its performance and efficiency.
Using engineered timber keeps the beautiful and tactile qualities of traditional wood but avoids the innate expansion and contraction issues that can occur from using solid wood. Engineered (multi-layered) timber is created by layering wood sections, with the grain of one section being layered in the opposing direction to the grain of its neighbour. Cleverly layering in this manner ensures any movement caused by absorption of moisture is evened out.
This leads to stronger, longer lasting windows and doors. Making sure they stay a perfect fit-just as the day they were installed.
