Mr & Mrs Merryfield

Located in Winchester, Mr and Mrs Merryfield visited our showroom after undertaking extensive research into window and door options.

For their outbuilding project, the homeowners selected a range of timber products, including flush casement windows, a stable door, and a set of French doors. All products were factory finished in RAL 9003 (White) on both the internal and external surfaces for a clean, timeless aesthetic.

The flush casement windows are fixed windows, complemented by 18mm astragal bars to enhance their traditional design. Both the stable door and French doors feature the ‘Brompton’ handle set with a plain rose, finished in polished chrome to provide a refined, contemporary detail.

To maximise usability during the warmer months, the French doors were also fitted with polished chrome cabin hooks, allowing the doors to be fully secured in the open position.

Using engineered timber keeps the beautiful and tactile qualities of traditional wood but avoids the innate expansion and contraction issues that can occur from using solid wood.  Engineered (multi-layered) timber is created by layering wood sections, with the grain of one section being layered in the opposing direction to the grain of its neighbour. Cleverly layering in this manner ensures any movement caused by absorption of moisture is evened out.

This leads to stronger, longer lasting windows and doors. Making sure they stay a perfect fit-just as the day they were installed.
