Mr & Mr Whiting
Nestled in a peaceful village on the West Sussex border, Mr and Mr Whiting decided it was time to upgrade their home’s entrance door. They were keen to choose a quality timber door that would complement the character of their property.
After visiting our Horndean showroom, the couple selected the elegant Westonbirt timber entrance door. This classic design features a distinctive envelope panel and refined bolection mouldings, perfectly balancing timeless style with craftsmanship. The door was factory finished in Warwick Stone (RAL 7021), creating a striking yet sophisticated first impression.
For the glazing, they opted for etched sun glass within the door and clear glass in the top light, allowing natural light to flow beautifully into the hallway.
To complete the look, the entrance door was fitted with antique brass hardware from Samuel Heath, blending durability with understated modern elegance.
Using engineered timber keeps the beautiful and tactile qualities of traditional wood but avoids the innate expansion and contraction issues that can occur from using solid wood. Engineered (multi-layered) timber is created by layering wood sections, with the grain of one section being layered in the opposing direction to the grain of its neighbour. Cleverly layering in this manner ensures any movement caused by absorption of moisture is evened out.
This leads to stronger, longer lasting windows and doors. Making sure they stay a perfect fit-just as the day they were installed.
