Located in a charming village on the West Sussex border, Mr and Mrs Jason decided it was time to upgrade their home’s original windows. After visiting our Horndean showroom, the couple chose beautifully crafted timber flush casement windows to bring a timeless elegance to their property.

The new windows are finished in off white (RAL 9010) and feature 18 mm astragal bars, perfectly complementing the traditional character of their home. To enhance the overall aesthetic, the couple also selected a stunning timber Chalfont entrance door.

For the door glazing, they opted for etched sun glass in the door and sandblasted glass in the top light, allowing their house number to be etched for a personal touch.

The entrance door is finished in Farrow & Ball ‘Skimming Stone’ on the inside and Farrow & Ball ‘Pigeon’ on the outside:

  • Skimming Stone is a warm stony off-white with light grey undertones—named after a 19th-century plaster shade and reminiscent of carefree afternoons skimming stones.

  • Pigeon is a nostalgic blue-grey inspired by the soft, elegant tones of the birds often seen across London.

To complete the look, the entrance door was fitted with satin brass stainless steel hardware, blending durability with understated modern elegance.

Using engineered timber keeps the beautiful and tactile qualities of traditional wood but avoids the innate expansion and contraction issues that can occur from using solid wood.  Engineered (multi-layered) timber is created by layering wood sections, with the grain of one section being layered in the opposing direction to the grain of its neighbour. Cleverly layering in this manner ensures any movement caused by absorption of moisture is evened out.

This leads to stronger, longer lasting windows and doors. Making sure they stay a perfect fit-just as the day they were installed.
