Mr & Mrs Norton

Located in the peaceful village of Old Bedhampton, Mr and Mrs Norton opted for classic timber windows to remain in keeping with the property’s original style. As their home is situated in a conservation area, it was important to preserve the traditional character and ensure all new windows and doors complemented the existing architecture.

The couple chose a timeless crisp white (RAL 9003) for the internal finish, creating a bright and elegant interior. Externally, they selected Farrow & Ball Vert De Terre - a beautifully muted green with soft blue undertones that lend a subtle, sophisticated charm. This carefully chosen shade enhances the home’s period features while blending seamlessly with its surroundings.

To complete the look, the flush casement windows and French doors were finished with aged bronze hardware, adding a touch of understated heritage character.

Using engineered timber keeps the beautiful and tactile qualities of traditional wood but avoids the innate expansion and contraction issues that can occur from using solid wood. Engineered (multi-layered) timber is created by layering wood sections, with the grain of one section being layered in the opposing direction to the grain of its neighbour. Cleverly layering in this manner ensures any movement caused by absorption of moisture is evened out.

This leads to stronger, longer lasting windows and doors. Making sure they stay a perfect fit-just as the day they were installed.
