Mr & Mrs Snell
Located in a charming town within the Test Valley, Mr. and Mrs. Snell decided it was time to replace their aging timber windows and doors. Wanting to preserve the traditional look of their home while upgrading to modern performance, they began researching alternatives online.
Their search led them to us, where they expressed interest in uPVC windows featuring timber-look joints and a realistic woodgrain finish—products designed to closely replicate the aesthetic of real timber.
After visiting our showroom and meeting with Ian, the couple decided to proceed with a full upgrade using Evolution timber-effect windows and French doors. To complement this, they selected a beautiful ‘Westonbirt’ timber entrance door, along with timber flush casement windows for their porch area. For a standout feature on their landing, they chose an arched sash window, and a timber stable door was installed in their kitchen to complete the transformation.
The result is a stunning blend of classic charm and contemporary performance that respects the heritage of their home while enhancing comfort and efficiency.
Using engineered timber keeps the beautiful and tactile qualities of traditional wood but avoids the innate expansion and contraction issues that can occur from using solid wood. Engineered (multi-layered) timber is created by layering wood sections, with the grain of one section being layered in the opposing direction to the grain of its neighbour. Cleverly layering in this manner ensures any movement caused by absorption of moisture is evened out.
This leads to stronger, longer-lasting windows and doors. Making sure they stay a perfect fit-just as the day they were installed.
