Mr & Mrs Leonard
Situated in a picturesque village near Godalming, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard were first introduced to Timber Windows through a leaflet delivered to their home. Intrigued by the quality on offer, they soon made a visit to our showroom in Winchester.
Mrs. Leonard recalls:
"We had continued problems with our previous wooden doors and windows during the winter months —the doors swelled badly over time. When visiting the showroom, we liked the idea of the engineered timber that Timber Windows use. It gave us confidence in the quality and longevity."
The couple have since had two elegant timber bi-folding doors installed at the rear of their property. Finished in black (RAL 9005) with clean square mouldings, the doors add a sleek, contemporary edge to their home.
To complement the new doors, flush casement windows were also installed. Painted in white (RAL 9003) internally and a soft 'Chalk Green' externally, the windows feature square mouldings to maintain a consistent, modern aesthetic throughout the property.
Using engineered timber keeps the beautiful and tactile qualities of traditional wood but avoids the innate expansion and contraction issues that can occur from using solid wood. Engineered (multi-layered) timber is created by layering wood sections, with the grain of one section being layered in the opposing direction to the grain of its neighbour. Cleverly layering in this manner ensures any movement caused by absorption of moisture is evened out.
This leads to stronger, longer lasting windows and doors. Making sure they stay a perfect fit-just as the day they were installed.
