Mr & Mrs Ross
Situated in a city centre location, Mr & Mrs Ross made the decision to replace their old timber windows which were over 35 years old but were showing signs of age, including several blown glass units. After a recommendation from a friend, they visited one of our showrooms to explore their options.
Following a consultation, we replaced a total of eleven windows at their property. A combination of lipped casement and flush casement styles was selected to suit the character of their home. All of the windows were painted in white (RAL 9003) internally and externally.
Mr & Mrs Ross chose to replicate the original window design by including the 18mm horizontal astragal bars. The customers also opted for the polished nickel handles from the Anvil collection.
Both Mr & Mrs Ross have commented on the noticeable improvement in noise reduction since the installation – a key benefit in their central location.
Using engineered timber keeps the beautiful and tactile qualities of traditional wood but avoids the innate expansion and contraction issues that can occur from using solid wood. Engineered (multi-layered) timber is created by layering wood sections, with the grain of one section being layered in the opposing direction to the grain of its neighbour. Cleverly layering in this manner ensures any movement caused by absorption of moisture is evened out.
This leads to stronger, longer lasting windows and doors. Making sure they stay a perfect fit-just as the day they were installed.
