Mr & Mrs Robdal's townhouse property is located in a market town in Hampshire, they have lived in the property since 2018.The customers previously had a white UPVC entrance door with a toplight installed, which was very draughty and made the hallway cold especially in the Winter months.
Mr & Mrs Robdal opted for a 'Kingston' timber entrance door with a toplight. The door is finished in Farrow & Ball 'Lichen' internally and externally. The door also features the charming satin brass hardware from Coastal. The customers opted for etched sun glass in the door sash and sandblasted glass in the toplight with their house number etched into the glass.
Using engineered timber keeps the beautiful and tactile qualities of traditional wood but avoids the innate expansion and contraction issues that can occur from using solid wood. Engineered (multi-layered) timber is created by layering wood sections, with the grain of one section being layered in the opposing direction to the grain of its neighbour. Cleverly layering in this manner ensures any movement caused by absorption of moisture is evened out.
This leads to stronger, longer lasting windows and doors. Making sure they stay a perfect fit-just as the day they were installed.
